can i use xbox live in mexico with an american bought 360?

i got a 360 recently but i been unable to go xbox live due to getting an error when searching for an IP. i have prodigy infinitum dsl in mexico with a speedstream modem & linksys switch hooked up. internet on pc works fine but nothing on xbox. help!!!

Of course you can. I've seen a whole bunch of Mexicans use it. I've seen and heard people from the UK use it. It's fine. It depends on what connection and types you have, not where you live.

i think the 360 is region locked. But im not sure.
