I was thinking of buying fallout 3 GOTY edition. If I use the new CD (the one coming from the GOTY edition) could I continue the game from the point that I left off from the original CD?

It is possible to continue where you left off on your new CD. The game will play the exact same way, except that you will receive messages in the game about the new content that you bought about 24 in-game hours after you begin playing with the content installed. The twenty four hour in-game clock will not begin until after you leave vault 101 for the first time. If you already left, it will begin immediately.

in case you intend on playing the better DLC.. surely bypass with with GOTY. (in case you havnt were given the achievements for 360, it fairly is reason sufficient) yet raising your aspect cap and each of the bonus equipment and guns should be reason sufficient for me to get goty over the common version. I dunno, i cant see a reason now to not get the added appropriate one, $20 shouldnt be that enormous of a determining ingredient :D

It's possible all you have to do is save & copy where you left off, but to do that make sure you buy a memory card for your Xbox controller and a 8GB flash drive.
