What kind of Xbox should I buy?

I've been thinking about buying an Xbox. I'd like to ask what kind of specifications I should look for. By what factors do Xbox's differ?

I noticed one of them is hard drive size: why does it matter that my HD is big? What else matters?

Right, it's mostly the amount of space on the hard drive. I'd say the best one that you can easily find is the Elite. You probably will have a hard time (if it's even possible) to find just an Elite, because most or all of them are purchased with a game and is specialized for that game. For example, I bought my Elite with Final Fantasy XIII and on the top of the xbox is a metal plaque that says 'Final Fantasy XIII.' Haha, it's really cool.

I don't know what you mean about the HD being big, but the TV plays a lot into HD and stuff. I have a TV where motion shows up better or something, so yeah, a lot of it is about the TV not the xbox.

I would also recommend you get one of the new black Xbox Elites. They have an extra fan, which will keep your xbox cooler and prevent more freezes. They also run more quietly.

To conclude, my recommendation is the black Xbox Elite. Plenty of space and it runs better. I would also suggest you get something like a grate to put your xbox on. It should be elevated (so it's not touching the table/floor) and have air space in it. That gets your xbox more air and less dust which can collect inside. Good luck!

PS: The black Elite is also really cool because you don't need to click any buttons on it; they activate upon touch! :D

The Xbox360 slim/Xbox360 can hold 4GB, 60GB, 120GB, 250GB and 320GB ( TMK - To My Knowledge) the TV has nothing to do with it as long as it has a AV cable out and able to change input (and of course power)

Below are howlong it will take to fill all 5 up

4GB - maybe 2 hours

60GB - a few months 1 year

120GB - 2 - 3 years

250GB/320GB you can really just download 15 games and be stuck at 215 if all were 7GB each download (mostly around 1 - 5GB for installed games - Disk games like Call of duty and ghost busters

there is no 64 gb x360. it's either 4 gb, 250, or 320 (special edition 360s).

bigger hard drive means you can install and save more games. you can install a lot more games on a 250 gb than a 4 gb. 250 gb gives you probably several hundred thousand save files, while 4 gb may give you only a few hundred game saves.

the special edition 360 (gears of war 3, modern warfare 3, halo reach, final fantasy xiii, and star wars) has a 320 gb hard drive and an extra controller. some also include a headset or hd cables.

The 4gb xbox is great if your not into hard core gaming or want to use the system to store your videos or music. The point of this xbox is to allow people to afford multiple units. Also this system is priced to allow people to use kinect without spending a fortune. I'm more into using the system for gaming but since it actually has less than 3gbs of memory I attached my external hard drive. Although its a 250 gb hard drive, each port only allows for 16gbs. This is still more than enough for me. I suggest buying you xbox elsewhere though; I got mine from Walmart, w two games (Mass Effect 2 and Modern Warfare 2), 3 months online, 1600 Microsoft points, for 249.99. Shop around and enjoy you xbox! It's a lot better than a PS3, haha. Overall though its a great system.

I'd get the 64GB slim, I have it and it serves me well. I have only used 20GB and I had 200 videos and over 90 games! safe choice,
