Question:
Buy an xbox 360?

I already own a PS3, and I think it's great, but I've also heard that the xbox 360 is really good too. I have some extra cash right now and could buy a 360. The question is, should I? Is the xbox 360 still going strong or should I just stick with my PS3 at this point.

Are the games currently out for the 360 getting old or are there still lots of people online playing Halo 3 and GoW, or is everyone just playing CoD 4?

Also, a lot of the 360 games are already out, is there anything to look forward to in the future? From what I've heard, there isn't much to expect in the future for the 360. The PS 3 however has plenty of good games coming soon. Maybe I should just keep my money for those?

What about the red ring of death, has it ben resolved yet, or are there still many cases? If I buy one now am I likely to get it?

And one last thing, if I do decide to buy it, should I buy it now, or are there going to be some good bundles, or maybe price drops in the near future?

I would spend the money on a good gaming PC instead. Most xbox exclusives go to the PC eventually anyway, so why buy a console with faulty hardware? They say its fixed, but I don't buy it.

Also there aren't many good games to look forward to on the Xbox 360. You already have a PS3 so you can get all the multi-platform titles (like GTA). Also, you can get Gears of War, Bioshock and Mass Effect (probably the best 360 games) on the PC. Other than that you only have Fable 2, Gears of War 2, and Halo Wars to look forward too (they'll probably end up on the PC as well, but maybe I'm just pessimistic).

I also refuse to pay for online play, which I already pay for through an ISP, but apparently thats just me. Ultimately its up to you though. If you have friends that play on xbox Live, or absolutely must have Halo, then go for it. Even if the console does red ring, you can always send it in since Microsoft covers the RROD for 3 years.

I would buy one if you have the extra money. Halo 3 and COD4 aren't the only games out there, unless all you want to do is play online multiplayer? There are several games that have already come out that are highly rated good games for the 360 (not in any particular order): Oblivion, Mass Effect, and Bioshock. Condemned's pretty good, Lost Odyssey not bad (anime type rpg). Gears of War is great, a little older game. Half-Life Orange box is great... online is great. Ao2 co-op is fun on xbl.

Besides the games you mentioned coming out... Fallout 3 will be coming out this Fall. Several other titles are coming, just cannot place them at this moment.

I have heard the same thru the pipeline that there's going to be a price-drop on 360's, so you may want to wait a little bit? I'd also want to make sure the 360 I got have the cooler 65nm's in it not the old 90nm's in it. the 90nm's are what makes 360's run hot.

I have been an avide fan of Playstation since they were first released and both for the Playstation and Playstation 2 brought them as soon as they came out (I payed £400 for my PS2!!).

But after all the delays and over pricing of the PS3 I started looking into the Xbox 360. played on a mates and last weekend brought myself one.

The 'ring of death' issue has nearly all but been resolved now. There are plenty of excellent games out and planned for the future, most notable probably being GTA IV. Halo 3 is still the most played game online (I believe) followed by COD 4.

After being a devote Playstation fan for so many years I am suprised to say it myself, but, Xbox 360's are awesome!!

if you buy a new 360, the ring of death bug is fixed, and furthermore, if you buy one, spend the extra $30 and get an intercooler, you won't be disappointed.

i own a 360 myself, and i absolutely love it, you can stream videos and music from your pc to it, graphics are unbelievable, and there are so many cool things you can do with it. Microsoft's big angle with the 360 is that it's not only a gaming console, but a complete entertainment system. i'm a firm believer in that, because i do so much with mine, watch movies, listen to music, play games, stream RSS feeds from the internet, you name it.. this thing is a blast. my 360 stays on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and i have not had one single problem with it, and i have the intercooler installed.

even though the format wars are over with Blu Ray and HD-DVD, the extra drive is not necessary for the 360 now, you don't have to buy any adapters or anything to watch regular dvd's, and there are USB ports in the front to hook up all kinds of stuff, there's plenty of xbox 360 forums out there to give you an idea of what's going on in this world.

i don't necessarily use my 360 for games, but i do have a couple, including Guitar Hero and RockBand, but the most awesome thing about it is having xbox live. you can do great things with it.

hope this helps you out... you can always get more money later for games, but since you have enough saved up right now, why not splurge and buy the 360? happy hunting.

dont get it!! Dont waste your money on a system thats loud and has a 33% of failure stick with ur ps3 and enjoy the future system. And there will be a time this year when theyll stop making games for the xbox 360 just like the old xbox. Good choice pcking the ps3. save your money for new hot titles coming for ps3. And i dont think there will be anymore price drops.

i wouldnt reccomend getting a 360. Since hd-dvd format is now dead microsoft is working with sony to make blu-ray for 360, this would probly make every 360 owner screwed if games coming out for 360 are gonan be blu-ray format forcing them to buy an addon. Speaking of addon, 360 doesnt have wireless, and your going to pay alot just to make it have everything the ps3 has. the ps3 is all built in, while the 360 is all add on. Yes this summer theres going to be alot of exclusive games only for ps3, ps3 has a powerfull prossor that soon devlopers would use. I would save the spare money and wundt get a 360, i see no point in having a 360 when you have a ps3, there are some games like halo that arnt for the ps3, but those games are just over rated i wudnt see why get a 360 for a game or 2. Ring of death on 360 is hardware failure. All my friends so far have came accrossed a broken 360. 360 has a 33 percent hardware failr rate which is alot. ps3 only has .22 percent(notice the decimal point, its less then 1 percent) but its always your choice to get a 360 if you want one, online on it costs money while ps3 is free. But if you really want one, my advice is to wait cause i did read that soon theres going to be price cuts on the 360s, and if they come out with a new model of a 360 with blu-ray its worth the wait, but your ps3 is perfect

have both and if you ask me, i would say stay with Ps3

here is my experience, see if it is any good to you.and i will try to cover all your questions ( if i were you, i would read it carefully )

First i bought my xbox 360. When i went to buy games i was like wow...hmm... i looked for somewhere where i can buy decent and new games but pay less... what i did and i would like share it with you is on eBay. No matter if you are a ebay person or not but on ebay you can get all the games for half the price. ( i know you cannot trust all the sellers but after buying about 30 games, i have a list of trusty sellers on ebay and if you want i can give it to you ).

I was enjoying my xBox 360 until it died after 3-4 months ( google' xbox 360 problems' for more info ).. i had to send it to microsoft and it took 3 weeks and i got it fixed. I was happy..it took 5-6 weeks and it died again...again i did the same thing and got it back...i was upset anyways.. it took about 7-8 weeks and it broke again...again i did the same thing and got it fixed and back .. i was mad. ( then i found out 33% xbox 360 owners had been gone through the same trouble with their consoles ).

After that i was really afraid to even touch it... you know what i mean.. i wanted to have fun with it but i knew everytime i turn it on could simply be the last time it goes on.

So step by step it came to my mind to get a PS3 .. logically i did some research to find out if PS3 is also going to let me down but i was suprised because i could not find any. More i did read about Ps3 more confident i became about it....well, i saved money and eventually i bought a Ps3.

Since i got my Ps3 i had no single problem with it. It has always been there for me .. and just to let you know, since i got my Ps3 i have not bought any more game for my xBox 360 and the most amazing part is that Ps3 online gaming is free. for example could of weeks ago when i was deciding to get a Call of Duty 4 i was not sure to get it for xBox360 or Ps3 , but when i remembered my experience with xbox 360 and compared it with Ps3 i darted for Ps3 version. Besides i asked myself why i should i buy the xbox 360 and lay something extra out for playing it online when i can play it online for free with Ps3. I got it and i am loving it.

And the same story went for Assissins Creed and i got it for Ps3 although xbox360 version of it was even some bucks cheaper but as i explained xbox 360 can die every time you turn it on/off.

If i were you i would go for PS3. ) 95% of current games are on both consoles but in couple of months there will be some freaking good games exclusively for Ps3 .

Well, xbox 360 has still my respect but Ps3 is honestly a better console.

One more thing, you may think about spending some extra cash on Ps3 but trust me, Ps3 is even cheaper. With Ps3 you can surf internet and play online Wireless but for xbox360 wireless you have buy somthing extra. xBox360 online is not free and is not cheap but Ps3 is free.

I like my xox 360 but i love my Ps3.

( if you think i can answer any other question you may have regarding this, feel free to aks )
