Right, so i know for sure AVI files work on xbox 360's when being shared through windows media player on my computer, i already have some AVI films shared and are perfectly fine to watch. Although i downloaded this anime which is AVI format, and has .dvd at the end.
Now i shared it, went to the folder on my 360, the image of the video is there, i press play, and then it says it has an unsupported codec.

Now what do i do to find out the AVI's codec and fix it? Or basically, how do i make it work?

Also a side question: i've had a few MKV files which dont work on xbox's, and i've downloaded and tried many converters, like gotsent, but they never work or the audio is never there when it converts, any other easy method to convert files to avi or files that definetly work on xbox 360's?

thanks

Oh I had this too. It's the audio codecs, not video. The best way to fix it is to convert the audio of the video files to mp3 format (various programs will do this, just go onto google and search around).

MKV files obviously don't work, so try converting the audio then the video separately.

Hope that helps. And thanks for providing a decent question...
