It wouldn't let me connect to live yesterday. It said there was a MTU failure. To check the settings on my Router or Modem. I don't know how to find it. I have a 2wire modem that is also a router. Please help. How do I find the settings for it?

the xbox live server is down for maintenance i asked xbox support and they told me that it's under maintenance that's probably why it doesn't connect but if you tried connecting tmrw and you still have mtu failure you probably should call support

There is an entire helpdesk entry on Xbox's support site about this issue, but from what I can tell it is an issue with your router. Check out their site with the source link below, but here is some additional info from that page as well:
How to determine if your connection problem is an MTU router problem
To verify whether your router’s MTU setting meets the minimum requirement for Xbox Live:
1. Select the Y button on the Connect Status screen, and then press the A button to continue to the diagnostic read-outs.
2. You receive the following information in the Diagnostic Server window:
MT: x (aaaa – bbbb) x=0 MTU test failed and there is an MTU problem.
x=1 No MTU problem.
(aaaa-bbbb) is the error code
3. If the MT shows a “1,” the router passed the test, and the MTU setting is not an issue for your router.
If the MT shows a “0,” the test failed. If this is the case, you have a router that is not compatible with Xbox Live. You may have to manually change your router’s MTU setting, update its firmware, or obtain one of the routers listed on one of the following Xbox Router Compatibility Web sites:

Xbox LIVE is experiencing quite major server issues due to the update that the service underwent today to test Microsoft Silverlight. Microsoft say that engineers are working on the problem. Who knows when it'll be fully functional again! But some people aren't experiencing major problems and they can get into games fine. Hopefully it'll be fixed by tomorrow!

If I press the attempt Connection button... will it reset my contemporary community settings whilst it shows the "MTU failure" message? i prefer to have the skill to connect good lower back on without messing with any settings after the Xbox replace.
