Hey man, I'll give you the best answer possible.

It all depends on what error msg you see on your screen. It should say "system error" followed by an error code.

E67 - hard drive failure

E68 - hard drive failure

E69 - hard drive failure

E73 - hardware failure

E74 - hardware failure

If the rare case you have ONE red light an no error msg, remove your hard drive, restart your xbox. If your xbox works your hard drive is the issue, if you xbox still doesn't work you xbox has the issue.

DO MOST OF YOU PEOPLE HAVE DOWN SYNDROME!!!! Three FLASHING LIGHTS Means Hardware failer, I mean wow. This is a big deal, your just going to lie to this person without a care and make him or her get all worked up and worried over a careless statement you morons made. One light just means you have been playing too much and to let the console be for a while to cool down.

It means the console is probably over heated. Try moving it to a well vented area. If it still does not turn on and gives an error message then you need to take it in to be fixed. Note this happens a lot with xbox's

hardware failure common to xbox 360s get it turned into xbox they will repair it. Call xbox they will deliver a shipping box to your local mailing center and it has directions on how to send it to the place to get it fixed. Mine went to Texas and came back fine. They give you 1 month xbox live complementary card after it comes back.

1 red light is normally E74 which is a scaler chip error basically means it has taken too much heat!

You will have to send it in!

That's means Send it back to Microsoft to have it fixed. One of the parts inside isn't working right.

I had that before, and it was from a faulty harddrive. so take your harddrive off, and check everything, like cables/power/etc. good luck

and if it says system error 75 (i think) then yes, thats a faulty harddrive

i think it means that there is a wire that is not properly connected all the way. check all your conections. also, go to microsofts web site on x-box 360's. they have alot of great info.

it depends which quadrant. if you dont think it over heated, then turn it off, and shove the cables in the back in the xbox. it might be loose. dont panic just yet. lol
