Question:
Xbox keeps disconnecting from the internet, why?
?

My Xbox 360 keeps kicking me out of games. It loses connection to the game server not Xbox live. (it happens with all my 8 games) I am instantly able to rejoin whatever game i'm playing without having to reconnect to Xbox live. This first happened on the weekend of December the 1'st and has been happening consistently 1-3 times an hour ever since. I know its not my modem because I can game on PC flawlessly. Someone suggested it could be incompatibility between my router and my Xbox. I have a DIR 655 router but I updated the firmware/drivers and it didn't help. What could be causing this?

Have you tried the DLink forum here:

You have a great router, especially for gaming and XBL. I'm very familiar with DLink and their products but down own the 655. However, it's a great one so unless it's developed a hardware issue due to lighting strikes or a power surge, I wouldn't blame it just yet.

I would do this. Depending on what kind of modem you have, reset it or at least turn it off for 30 seconds and boot it back up.

Then, reset your DIR-655 to default settings, let it boot up and reconfigure it using the wizard or however you're comfortable configuring it.

On that forum link I posted will be a post on how to configure your router for Xbox Live. If you can't find it, then just post a question on the forum asking for XBL configuration help.

Step 1: Go to any hardware store and buy a sledgehammer. This should cost around 10 to 20 dollars depending on the store.

Step 2: Smash the hell out of the Xbox because Xbox sucks and there's no real fix for this error.
