1. Anyone saying "you always have to be connected to the internet" and citing it as a negative is stupid. They probably play PC games which are all now universally online, the most played of which (WoW and LoL) have to be online at all times anyway. Their smart TV's and blu-ray players are always online, as are their cell phones.
THIS DOESN'T MATTER. IT'S A POINT THAT RENDERS AN ARGUMENT INVALID.
2. "$100 more??" $100 more is admittedly an eyesore in terms of sticker shock, but guess what? The Xbox One has a gazillion more features than the PS4. Those claiming they don't care about the features are in the minority in terms of the target audience. Hardcore gamers are in the SLIM minority from an entertainment standpoint, as cloud computing, apps, and mobile integration are taking over. If you can't see that, you're blind. Microsoft hasn't gotten where it is by making stupid business decisions. Valve went through the same criticism with Steam, yet 99% of PC gamers today wouldn't know where they would be without it.
YOU'RE PAYING FOR A MEDIA CENTER, NOT A GAMING CONSOLE. XBOX ONE IS MORE EQUIPPED FOR THIS THAN THE PS4.
3. "PS4 will have better graphics!" Well, that's negligible. If you have a computer with a GTX Titan, and another next to it with a GTX 460, you won't see a difference in the visuals of a game. Games will be written to specifically take advantage of the hardware in the machines, and since the majority of buyers will own nothing better than 1080p, no human eye will be able to detect a difference anyway. The cross-platform games showed no difference whatsoever, and the exclusives will be a matter of preference. Furthermore, the PS3 allegedly had better graphics than the 360, but the 360 still acquired more publishers, and took over the market share from Sony with ease.
4. "Kinect will be spying on you!" So does your email, tablet, and cell phone. Are you going to get rid of those? The problem there is the government, not the companies selling the hardware. You do realize that you don't own the digital content you type, upload, search for, etc, right? That's owned by the companies who provide the service, and the government granted those companies exemptions from privacy suits in exchange to freely peruse the data. It's under the guise of safety and organization, but it's really to shape cultural opinion and control voter turnout. That should enrage you, not the guys at Microsoft laughing at someone biffing in their living room.
DON'T BE A FOOL AND ASSUME SONY WON'T INTRODUCE A "MOVE" OR SIMILAR PIECE OF HARDWARE DOWN THE ROAD.
5. "I don't want all those features. I just want to play my games!!!" Well, then you are quickly slipping into the minority. The whiners are almost exclusively hardcore gamers, and they may number in the thousands. Both of these systems will sell in the millions. Consoles are no longer about the gamers. PS4 is a relic in this regard, because there simply aren't as many gamers as there are people who want general entertainment. For this reason, the Xbox One will outsell the PS4, no matter how wild the midnight release is, and no matter how loud the whining.
6. "No used or old games from previous generations!!!" Upon release. No word if that's permanent. Besides, game rental is an absolutely dying industry, and very few play games from previous generations once they get the new stuff anyway. The numbers reflect that absolutely, not relatively (nor is that an opinion).
7. "The One is too exclusive/locked down!!!" Said the idiot who probably owns an Apple product. Funny thing is, if Apple released a media center device that played games, people would be lining up and singing its praises. Microsoft will have a media device that cuts down on what people need to have in their entertainment center, while also playing top tier games. Not only that, the Xbox exclusives have, and will always blow Sony's out of the water. Titanfall and Halo will mash anything Sony can come up with, and Gears of War will continue to perform well too.
8. "Microsoft doesn't care about their customers; only money!!!" Well, if that were true, millions of people wouldn't buy their stuff. Plain and simple. Customer satisfaction is proven by the number of wallets that open for a product. They can't make you buy anything if you don't want it.
Finally, The Xbox One will be fully integrated into the Microsoft Ecosystem. Your mobile device, computer/laptop/tablet, and Xbox will be able to share, store, and exchange information. The PS4 will fall well short here, because Sony doesn't have the market share, or the street cred Microsoft does.
