I cannot decide between these two. me personally would go for Xbox one but most of my friends are going to get a ps4. which console would be better to get. keep in mind the extra $100 doesn't concern me, its the software and which would be better experience.

Ps4 Microsoft tried to screw us over do you really still trust them it will be hard to forgive them but as of right now they lost my respect they just showed there ugly face to the world and every one hated it and also Sony is a weak company with many financial difficulties it would be good to give them the business ps4 wins in my book.

WTF? The PS3 will be 3 years old this November and hasn't even hit the middle of its production cycle yet. Sony hasn't even begun to design the PS4 yet (assuming they even call it a PS4). Even if it were to come out tomorrow, Playstation consoles are now getting a 10 year shelf life, so the PS3 will continue to be supported for at least the next 7 years regardless. Plus the PS3 just dropped to $299, which means the PS4 will be more than that, and we already have seen how many people b*tch about such a high-priced console. And people will not just put the PS3 in the storage shed while they spend another $1000 towards the PS4 to the point where there is "no one online." To sum up, don't expect any sort of new on the PS4 for another 5 years, at least.

The two systems have nearly identical specs:

-- Both have the capabilities to run both DVDs and Blu-ray discs;

-- Both have 8 GB of ram;

-- Both are using eight-core processors by AMD;

-- Both contain 500 GB hard drive;

-- However, the PS4 hard drive is user replaceable (upgradeable), while the Xbox One does not have a user replaceable hard drive, but it does support external storage.

The Xbox One has been looked down upon since their poor showing at E3, but have changed a lot of what was previously said. Previously, they said that they would restrict used games, and require internet access, but now they have changed that, and allow used games, and do not require internet. Also, they do not require their peripheral, the Kinect, but it will still come in the package, thus being one of the reasons that the Xbox One is $500, instead of $400. Factoring in the cost for Xbox Live, the Xbox One is going to be more then $100 dollars, if you want Xbox Live capabilities. User polls have indicated that they are going to buy the PS4, but prefer the Xbox One controller.

There are many things that you should think about before choosing a system. Price, although you said it doesn't concern you, if you would actually use the Kinect, the controller, etc. If most of your friends are going to get the PS4, maybe you should too? Also, if you are looking to game on the go, Sony has been advertising the PS Vita as the perfect accessory, while the Microsoft has not created that. One last thing to consider when buying the system is the exclusives, such as Halo, Forza, Killzone, etc., for the PS4 and Xbox One systems respectively. Basically, choose what suits you better.

Have Fun!

according to my research the ps4 is better thats a fact if you look on it from a hardware perspective. The games are just down to opinion but ps4 will have 20 big budget games launching in the ps4's first year will xbox 1 has 15 confirmed for it's life time. Also people bring up cloud hardware ps4 and xbox 1 are even on that front even though xbox has 300,000 servers ps4 has gaikai they have less around 100,000 but they are 3x as better quality over quantity so they're even also speak to any game dev they will say cloud programming can't improve graphics only match making and multiplayer. At the moment the xbox 1 has 5 gb for games and 3gb for os and the ps4 has 7gb for games and 1 gb for os though it was rumoured to be 5.5 gb for games thats still better get what ever you want but in my opinion get a ps4 for the long term if you get a x1 i bet after at least a year you had wished to have gotten a ps4. Also both systems offer the same features with multiplayer so no competition

To be honest they are pretty identical. Ps4 has slightly better perks however xboxlive has always been better than PlayStation network and thus I'd think better than ps+. Also, Xbox has had dlc content for CoD out quicker than ps4 (month or so), Xbox live wasn't hacked on a massive scale like ps4/sony.

• Xbox will allow offline gaming.

• Xbox will allow trading games exactly like you do now.

• Xbox 360s controller was better than PS3s for competitive gaming, so.

• Xbox will not require Kinect to be on.

• Xbox will not require 24 hour online check.

• Xbox will have a Halo show exclusively on the console.

Ultimately, it comes down to preference.

However, I'd look at the past before looking into the future.

Also, Xbox one is so far the better entertainment system since it has smart glass, live tv watching; It's like a cable box in SOME ways. All the ps4 is is a game system which isn't bad but, I'd like to get tv with my Xbox too.

The PS4 in $100 less they are not making much changes 2 the hardware. The GPU instead is fast. The Xbox's CPU is faster - But that doesn't mean better performance. You look up on YouTube Xbox One vs PS4. More People are getting the PS4 and it will be Worth your money this has been proven.

Hope this helps.

Xbox 1 Price - $500

PS4 Price - $400

This is merely a reply to a comment below. The Xbox One CPU is in no way faster than the PS4. Get your facts straight before answering a question. The PS4 is estimated at 1.74 teraflops, while the xbox one is clocked at 1.24, after being overclocked (which reduces the lifespan of the processor). Furthermore, the PS4 has 8GB of GDDR5 ram, while the Xbox one only has 8GB of DDR3 (slower ram, if you're wondering). While the DDR ram is more efficient at smaller tasks (like switching apps), the GDDR ram is more efficient at large operations (like running graphics and opening game data).

MSFT claims this is offset by "the cloud computing", but since they've dropped the always on connection, how many programmers are going to code a game for a service they're unsure if the consumer will have? It's the same problem with the Kinect now. You can kiss your innovative content goodbye since its no longer mandatory.

Furthermore, MFST just announced that they've reduced the number of launch countries from 21 to 13 (which sounds to me like they're having problems with a system that had zero leaks and took MFST 3 months to announce after Sony announced the PS4). Trouble on the horizon?

Sony is the clear winner. They're hardware is vastly faster and more durable than the Xbox One, and is cheaper. Not to mention, PS+ has more value (at 5 dollars cheaper a month with a larger free game base).

Both consoles have 8GB of RAM (the Xbox One using slightly more of it for it's operating system), both have support for the future (Ultra HD etc.), both play Blu-rays, and both have a broad range of exclusive games (PS: Uncharted, The Last of Us etc. Xbox: Halo, Gears of War etc.). The PS4 has better hardware in pretty much every way, and the new software looks pretty well designed. The Xbox One, however, has a very good online service, slightly worse, but not so different hardware, and software which removes the need for so many inputs on TVs. I personally think that the TV is a bit of a gimmick for people who can't be bothered to pick up a remote and change inputs, and, as you can see above, it confuses the less understanding members of the gaming community, and makes them think that it has built-in cable TV (which it doesn't, by the way). The Xbox One is also pretty big, and some may struggle to fit it in that seemingly perfect spot underneath your TV where your old console was. The PS4, however, shows off the next-gen technology, and is smaller than the PS3 was on release, despite the better hardware. Also, quite a few developers have said that their mulit-console game may look better on PS4. For me, a no-brainer. I have already pre-ordered my PlayStation 4.

Please skip to the last paragraph if you are not interested in the specs and stats.

There is technically not much of a difference, the CPU is pretty much the same on both, but the PS4 is slightly higher for the GPU this basically means that the ps4 will be able to do things, like process tasks and do background downloads quicker. The PS4's design is better and more sleek than that of the Xbox One.The PS4 is also $100 cheaper, and £100 cheaper, and the contoller of the PS4 is favoured by the public (http://www.polarb.com/polls/tags/consolewars8/100912), but as for the controller, i would say that you would have to try both, as only you know which one you like more. The gaming library is now pretty much even as Sony are going to start charging $49.99 for yearly online gaming as well as free games etc. I think that sony slightly edge away with victory, but i may be wrong.

As for your personal preferences, you have stated that you cannot decide but would choose the Xbox One, but your friends are choosing the PS4. I think that you should simply go with your friends, if you are ok with the PS4, if you don't like the PS4 then go with the Xbox One, but trust me, playing with your friends is so much more fun than anything else, especially with the next gen, as they had that in mind when creating them. For you, as you want good software and your friends are choosing the PS4, then I would highly recommend the PS4 for you.

Ok seriously who cares which console has better graphics and has a better processor the ps4 has gddr5 ram which operates 50% better than ddr3 but they both have 8gb and even though gddr5 is better it doesnt mean that any gNes will actually ever have to use it i mean xbox 360 runs on 512mb of ram and games run smoothly on there and xbox one has 300 000 cloud servers which will help its cause and really in the long run u play games on a video game console that is its sole purpose just look up the games coming out for both systems and choose, personally i like xbox one games coming out because i love halo and gears of war and fable and deadrising 3 and i cant wait for the highly anticipated game titanfall but if u dont like those games at all then get the console that ur friends r gonna buy cause what is the use of having a console say ps4 for example if all ur friends r on xbox one playing games together while ur stuck at home playing with none of ur friends so pick a console based on what ur friends are getting and based on the games coming out to that console

Idk know why people are saying Xbox has more game choices. Yes it dose on 360 than ps3 but right now the ps4 has more confirmed big games comeing out in 2014 than Xbox one dose for the next 3 years. Everyone els already told you the specs and such so I won't go over that. But the ps4 also supports indie game developers massively. So if you like indie games the ps4 is the way to go. The Xbox one also supports indie developers but Microsoft gives them very little freedom to do stuff while Sony playstation is famous for letting developers have lots of freedom to do what they want. So many indie developers prefer playstation. Also Xbox buys the rights to your indie game for like 20 bucks and tells you how to make the game better if you are going to continue working on it. Once they buy the rights to your game you have no controls over what happens to it. Sony dose not do this. Ps4 looks much better.

pS4 all day long. Despite Microsoft ditching their proposed plans to follow suit along a similar line to Sony, the hardware is of a lower spec too. someone also mentioned the Xbox will have better exclusives?? Not sure what that is based on considering the ps3 brought out the likes of Heavy Rain, Uncharted series, Last of Us, Infamous and resistance series amongst many others. if your friends are going down the route of PS4 and online gaming with your friends is important to you it may be best to opt for PS4

Unless you really want kinect, ps4 is the gaming machine. Ps4 has a good gpu and your friends are getting it so u can already play it with others. Also, ps+ gives good games that are actually worth money for free (e.g saints row 3, Battlefield 3) and xbox live gives very cheap games (-$20)

Xbox One, Xbox One fixed all their stuff that people didnt want, you can play used games and you dont need to use kinect, yeah its more expensive but more money better quality, PS4 is just gaming, Xbox One is a Gaming AND Entertainment System, I hate Playstation with a passion, plus its full of kids and its users always complain and get mad at xbox 360 with no real reason

Don't listen to Samuel, both consoles have 8 gigs of ram. The ps4 actually has gddr5 ram, while the xbox had gddr3. Gddr5 is a tier above gddr3. That being said, the consoles are almost identical, it's just a personal preference.

PS4 wins in all ways. Even though graphics and hardwares are basically the same, Ps4 allows offline gaming(Xbox doesn't), allows game exchanging(Xbox doesn't) and doesn't constantly spy on you like the new Xbox Kinect. Google ps4 vs Xbox one to get details.

I personally have gone for Ps4 due to quality over bigger online community this is due to I've owned a 360 since day one and it just keeps breaking I sent mine back to Microsoft for repair 10 times since I had one I gave up with it in the end and have had my ps3 60Gb since day one without a single fault. in the end its down to your preference but in the end the hacking scandal is nothing as any big Corp can be hacked and I believe with PSN having paid for PS+ with 10 free games each month and Sony now owning Gaikai who holds the world record for fastest network in the world. it will be getting bigger and better over the next year like live did and if you don't want to pay you can still access your other services like Netflix and the internet and talk to friends with no extra fee. the other obvious things to take into account is the Ps4 has more raw graphics grunt due to the higher performance ram and GPU. PS3 had its flaws and they have learned. Microsoft on the other hand has lost a lot of trust due to their mistakes but in the end its still down to your preferences :) so buy what you feel is worth your money.

Xbox one has fixed all the faults it had and now the two sides are essentialy the same.

with the xbox one you will probably get better exclusives, but there will be less people to play with as ps4 may have more people, but it does have better online (xbox live)

with the ps4 you have to get the eye for it for half the features, but it does have better software but that doesn't mean the a better experience,you may have 12 horses more in the stable,but if you don't know how to use them they're useless.Also their online Psn,is plagued by hacks and faults and shut downs,but more people might get it so there might be more variety to play with

I would go for Xbox One (in my opinion) because i could watch TV on it with out any cable like in my room i dont have cable but if i get Xbox One that i dont have a problem. like sports or my favorite channel. The cost is not going to be a huge concern to me at all. there will be more exclusive games on the Xbox One then the PS4. on the ps4 you will be playing the same old games you played on the PS3. thats all i have to say.
