I use a 42" Plasma for gaming. My Xbox 360 usually displays a 1024x768 resolution and it looks amazing. Randomly it will change the setting back to 720p which looks like crap on my tv. After restarting the Xbox over and over and setting the display back to default, I STILL cannot choose the 1024x768 setting. It will not show it on the screen settings list. All I have is 420,720, and 1080 which all look way too dark, grainy, and pixelated. How in the heck can I set it to 1024x768 and KEEP it there? Also, I have not changed ANY settings on the tv itself, ever. What am I doing wrong?

1024x768 isn't a standard HD resolution. Are you sure you're using a HDTV and not a computer monitor?



Most 360 games are in 720p. Only the dashboard or some of the downloadable games support anything other than 720p.
