I keep hearing Sony fan boy's talking about how ps4 is better Microsoft is this money hungry evil corporation who wants to spy on you(BLAH,BLAH,BLAH). I always hear about psn going down or being hacked on large scales and Sony fan boys keep saying that Xbox live gets hacked and goes down just as much as Sony but there's never any concrete proof behind what they are saying. Every time I search for Xbox live being hacked or going down it's no official(an official notice from Microsoft) news about it going down or being hacked.
I don't want any fanboy crap from either side I just want FACTS. WHEN, HOW LONG and HOW MUCH of xbox live was hacked and or gone down. Some guy told me it went down in 2007 but I cant find anything about it when I search for it.
I know from owning a ps3 that the psn goes down quite a bit in comparison to my xbox 360 I have NEVER got online on my xbox and couldn't get on because xbl was down and I've had one since xbox 360 was released.
Also how good is psn in comparison to Xbox live??? because I pre-ordered a ps4 but dont want it if I'll be at risk of getting my info stolen and it has a terrible online gaming experience(i.e. lag, disconnections, no dedicated servers)

I can't recall a public incident that Microsoft has admitted that Live had been hacked.

I can, however, recall a few times when Live was offline due to technical reasons for a few days around Christmas a few years ago. However, Microsoft never attributed the problem to hacking, just congested servers.

Sony was forced to admit that PSN had been hacked back in 2010. That was only after PSN had been down for nearly a week. It took them nearly 2 months to get PSN back online.

Right now, PSN doesn't compare to Live. PSN has fewer users, fewer games, fewer features, and is slower compared to Live. Unless Sony gets their act together when the PS4 launches, they're going to have a hard time against the Xbox One even with its questionable privacy issues.

Statistically speaking, Xbox is hacked more than any console - being PC-like software as it is owned by Microsoft and there are even sites and videos demonstrating and explaining how to do so. Not saying it's true but the evidence is there. Sony announced it publicly because it was on a massive scale and a hack into a very large security system, therefore people would need to know for fear of lawsuits, stolen money and so on. Microsoft (this is opinionated by the way) I don't believe would come out publicly about being hacked - ever. Considering their business lies not only in Xbox but also operating systems and such; revealing that their systems can be hacked would have severe, almost devastating consequences for them - whether large scale or not.

You don't really need to worry about PlayStation being hacked in future/you details being insecure for quite some time; as after companies experiences flaws in their security systems, they seal those flaws up and thus hackers would have to find another way in - this could take years and may not even happen ever again considering Sony's new servers and such. Both systems go down all the time, PlayStation and Microsoft need updates and bug fixes like any other software but neither are insecure systems. Sony had a big hack, Microsoft had several small hacks and that's just the way things are.

Concerning PSN compared to Xbox Live; I personally despise the Xbox fan community as half of them seem to be sniveling immature children who do nothing but scream and moan - with your actual friends however it's a positive experience. With PSN, the online community is a lot more well based and dare I say 'professional' but once again this is opinionated. With games, Xbox Live Arcade competes with the PlayStation store and it's really just a matter of tastes from there on out. PlayStation tend to go for Indie games and strange new mechanic games where as Xbox seems to go for the more casual approach, with games that you could play on PC. I believe that the only reason Xbox has so many fans/users is due to it's connections with Microsoft and PC but that's another argument.

Online experience I'm afraid as a general is on a case by case experience. Depending on games, servers, sessions etc. It's up to you really.

xbox has been hacked 0 times officially as far as i know.

you are a xbox fanboy, correct? you know, there's something called the xbox (or ps) forums. gamefaqs, ign, gamespot, etc. then again probably too many fanboy **** to see any real factual information. fear not, xbox owner i speak only facts.

xbox 360 does have a better online system, although it requires paying which is a turnoff to some gamers. others say in defense that it's not even a lot and it's a lot better quality in return.

tastes is all it is, preferences.

you shouldn't have terrible online experiences. ps3 is very popular and is a great console. the xbox 360 is too, btw. they both have their ups and downs. in reality, the biggest and most noticeable differences are the fanboys, the controllers, the exclusives, and the console name. maybe the online experience too but not so entirely huge on the difference. otherwise? 95% of the games are the same and people put the game in and start playing.. what's there to say.

the ps4 would have obviously won the "console war" had MS been dumb enough to keep what they had, which is why the reverted it because they knew it was better to revert it than to keep going on the path they were on.
