When will we expect the new generation consoles be released?

Question

I am wondering when will consoles like the Wii 2, Playstation 4, and possibly the Xbox 720, be released.
Ive heard much speculation about these consoles but around when would we expect them to come out?
Would it be this year or maybe 2012?

Sony and Microsoft will not release the their next gen console till 2014 or 2015.



Nintendo, however, has plans to in 2012.

Wii 2 will definitely be first - they are struggling to keep up, so they need some fresh ideas.



X-box announced last year that they plan on getting another 5 years out of the 360. With the release of Kinect and the Elite console, they hope this will keep the xbox competitive - they dont expect people to buy a brand new xbox and kinect and a bunch of games, then shortly after hope they will buy the NEWER console.



Sony I imagine will follow microsofts lead with the xbox, if they release a console too early, the xbox to follow after can easily just outdo it in every way - they will probably both hold back and go for a release at roughly the same time to remain in competition.



Or sony will do what they did last time, and claim they will be releasing a similar console to the xbox, then delay it as xbox launches, and go **** ITS BETTER THAN OURS, then delay it a bit longer then go LOOK OURS HAS BLURAY, THATS WHY IT TOOK SO LONG LOL!

There's rumors that Nintendo will release it's console later this year or early 2012. For the PS4 & Xbox 720 don't expect them until 2013, maybe even 14 or 15.

Microsoft and Sony are intending to prolong the life of their current consoles using excercise periphals (Kinect, Move) but I hear Nintendo plan to confirm a new wii console this year...with HD!
