i was in the middle of a game my xbox froze and when i turned it back on it had 3 red lights top right was not

That would probably be the "three rings of death" that everyone talks about. I had it happen and it does take a bit to get it taken care of. Call the 800 number listed for Xbox Support. They will confirm that your xbox is dead and then send you a packing slip and box to send it back to them. If the xbox was purchased in the first couple months of launch (Nov 2005) then they will cover it under warranty. If not, expect the repairs to cost about $125 and take about a month to get it returned. Sorry it had to happen to you too.

You are hosed. This has happened to my Xbox twice. Both times I had to send it in for repairs. Mine was under warranty at the time and they just replaced it with another one. I've read that they overheat easily but mine is placed in the open under an A/C vent. Good Luck
